Rastas in Malawi to Welcome Renowned Jamaican Artist Ras Ivi Tafari

The Rastafarian community in Malawi is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Ras Ivi Tafari, a renowned Jamaican artist known for writing and singing songs used in Rastafarian prayers. Ras Tafari, who is also a cultural ambassador, is expected to arrive in Malawi next Friday and will be treated to a music concert featuring local reggae artists.

The concert, scheduled to take place at Chancellor College in Zomba on Friday night, will feature performances by Chizmo Njuchi, Queen Fyah, Trumel, Kommuniquea, and Tuff Lion, with international band Tuff Lion set to "bring the fire". According to Elder Ritzot, one of the organizers, "We have planned a special welcome concert for Ras Tafari, and we invite all Rastas and reggae music lovers to join us."

During his visit, Ras Tafari is expected to interact with Rastafarian communities in Chileka, Tabernacle Nyahbingi, and other areas, where he will receive gifts and engage in discussions. He will also spend time with students from the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) and the University of Malawi. Ras Mwahara, a local Rastafarian leader, has been instrumental in supporting Ras Tafari's trip to Malawi.

"We are honored to host Ras Tafari in Malawi, and we look forward to learning from him and sharing our own culture with him," said Elder Ritzot.
