JB's "Mavyete Malawi Food Relief" Raises 19.9 Million Kwacha for Maize Donations
JB's non-political initiative, "Mavyete Malawi Food Relief," has achieved a remarkable milestone, raising 19,950,000 Kwacha to donate maize in Malawi amid the country's economic challenges. This impressive feat is the result of contributions from over 80 citizens in the diaspora, primarily from America.
Musician and social media influencer JB, born Alberto Fernando Zacarias, announced this achievement on his official Facebook page, where he acknowledged the contributors. Mac Zakulanda and an anonymous individual were the top donors, each contributing $250, approximately 1 million Kwacha.
JB expressed his gratitude to all contributors during a live session, ensuring the public that maize distribution will take place before the end of the month in hunger-stricken areas. He also highlighted their ongoing efforts to secure affordable maize.
JB urged Malawians to appreciate the sacrifices made by contributors, who are working hard in America to support their families back home. He also emphasized the importance of wisely managing resources sent from abroad and acknowledging the hard work and sacrifices m
ade by family members.
