MultiChoice Malawi Premieres Locally Produced Drama Series
MultiChoice Malawi has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in local content and empowering Malawian storytellers with the premiere of Pa Mango Lodge, a locally produced crime drama series.
The series, produced by Gift Sukez Sukali and directed by MultiChoice Talent Factory graduate Brian Magombo, showcases Malawian culture and talent. It will air on DStv's Zambezi Magic channel 162 and GOtv channel three.
A pre-screening event held at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe was attended by filmmakers, musicians, and government officials. Information Minister Moses Kunkuyu praised the event, describing it as a significant milestone in the evolution of Malawi's film industry. Film Association of Malawi President Dorothy Kingston applauded MultiChoice Malawi for the initiative.
The Pa Mango Lodge drama series explores themes such as corruption, abuse of power, loyalty, friendship, justice, and injustice. The series features a talented cast, including Edwin Chonde, Cynthia Zonde Zulu, Kelvin Ngoma, and Ruth Chavula.
The premiere of Pa Mango Lodge drama series marks another significant step in MultiChoice Malawi's efforts to promote local content and talent. Managing Director Averess Ndhlovu Chella emphasized the company's dedication to supporting Malawian storytellers and showcasing local culture.
